To be honest, there are a lot of reasons as to why companies discontinue products, even the ones on the more successful side (not implying that the boards were).
Like preparing to update the product lineup and portfolio, or getting rid of something unprofitable.
Component obsolescence, compatibility issues, company reconsolidating and preparing for the future.
I don’t know, there might be a lot more of fancy business vocabulary involved.
Just played on my DGT Pi after updating the software and went to look up something on the DGT website to see that all the Bluetooth boards are now discontinued. I know the software for them on Windows is a bit clunky, but are they being replaced with something better or has production simply ceased?
