That's not what the thread linked to in the first post above says. It clearly says that you can use any metal weighted chess pieces.

If the DGT chess pieces are weighted, should work - not all are weighted.

I heard they are giving away FREE electronic chess boards on Mars that connect to any device ever invented or it can print out your game instantly on a piece of paper.   It can even teach you how to play better chess while you sleep.  I can't wait for the Martians to sell this board.  It will be the best thing ever!  Everything else that is made for chess is inferior in comparison.
