Analog Clocks can be set up in one mode only which is "time + guillotine". This can be done with a digital clock just as easily. More advanced modes are a little harder to be set up but that is no rocket science either. So get a DTG or a Chronos, get familiar with it and you'll find it quite easy to set it up in any mode You like.
Digital Clocks

I think DGT makes easy-to-set clocks. They've got the basic time modes as presets but you can customise with some practice; after reading the manual, of course.

I have a Saitek digital now, but the instruction manual is indecipherable to my decidedly 20th century brain. Is there a "Saitek for Dummies" set of instructions available anywhere?

If there selling it on wholesalechess.com maybe you should look and see if they have a demo video, and if so watch it and see if you learn anything. What does it look like?

The Chronos is my personal favorite...super rugged construction with dozens and dozens of different time controls. Not the easiest to set. But after you've programmed your common time controls, it's very user friendly. I think this clock is especially good for blitz, because it can take a lot of abuse.
The Excalibur model is easier to set, but not as flexible and not nearly so well constructed.

Google "how to set a chronos clock" & you should find a link to a simple video. I watched it several times before setting my own. It really helped an old timer like myself get over the frustration factor. Then camp-out one weekend with just you the clock & the manual. Set four presets for what you usually use & enjoy.

It's a free online chess clock . Very easy to set us and use. This is a link to their demonstration video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=14PmKfw_GSo

It's nice for beginners but that clock doesn't behave like a real checsscklock at all
Are there any high quality chess clocks that are easy to set? I struggle with the instruction books. Any chance there is some digital as easy to set as the analogs?
