I always loved this set. Especially now since the spaceX IPO are in the news and space tourism in the coming future. I think space chess sets will be in high demand. This is one best space designs I've see so far in my opinion.

Of course, it appeared in 1958 just as the ‘space race’ had begun - Soviet Union vs USA (back when education meant something to the country). It’s amazing that a workshop in Val Gardena, Italy is where the collaboration with the Disney designer Arthur Elliott came together… Just a wonderful story (not to mention the history of the workshop and the experiences of Anton Rifeser (AnRi) as a soldier and prisoner of war in the Soviet Union… They produced beautiful chess sets - the Elsinore is another (harder to find because fewer produced over a shorter period of time).

With the Carlsen Niemann doco soon to screen on Netflix, here is an opportunity to get a slice of chess history. One of the sets used by some of the players in the Sinquefield Cup 2022. Niemann played the 1st Round on this set. At this stage I am still looking for a buyer to take delivery in Australia. Please message me to discuss if interested. Dont miss this opportunity.

All of these sets were only taken out of their boxes to check them and have never been used by me to play games or analyse games.
