Maintaining the proper shine and conditioning of board and pieces is imperative to playing a proper game of chess OTB.  It is not funny, and it is not something to be snarky about.  

Chess sets must be reconditioned daily in order to function properly. 

Well, kaynight, it is certainly no laughing matter.

Once a year reconditioning shows a sad state of affairs in the chess world.

Why did the Truewaxtm melt my plastic pieces???

Very very true... I once was playing and eating chips and cookies at the same time. Had a bunch of crumbs all over the board and when I finally pulled the queen out, it tripped on one of those darn crumbs and got broken. I was sooo upset...no more of the wavy chips for me as they are to thick and no more cookies that have nuts in them, cause when they get on the board, and trust me on this, it's to hard to keep your pieces stable around those crumbs and can get your pieces dinged up from the those hard nuts...

I wax my legs sometimes but I've never waxed my chest pieces. :)
