Does someone recognize these pieces?

I recently got a chess board from a local craigslist and the pieces below came with it.  I have trouble finding any info on their provenance however and was hoping someone here could shed some light on the matter.

King size is 3.8", not weighted and rather light wood with straight graining. It's probably not a real "quality set" since almost all pieces show some lathe marks.

I do like the pawns and the rather straight stems on queens and king though.

It looks like some variation of a Lardy to me.

No idea.. Fantastic knights imho. The queen's crown is great, too. Could anybody say if this bishop's shape has a name? Powder's Lardy has such bishops, if I remember correctly. A perfect old set! Thank you for sharing and happy playing.

Never seen it, but I think German makes sense. Your location, also the wide horizontal and low base of the king’s cross is similar to some German sets I have seen.

I agree with @ungewichtet... the knights are very cool!

It’s an interesting little set … with no grain could it be turned from something like MDF? And the board is a ripper.👍

Thanks, I like the knights as well especially the short snouts and the "compactness".

I don't think it's mdf since there is a grain and small knots present in the wood. It's just very hard to see since the white pieces are very brown. Here's a somewhat better view:

EDIT: after a bit of searching and comparing, I think the pieces are probably made out of beech wood.
