Drueke Chess Table

One sold about two weeks ago on EBay, just as soon as it was listed.
How much did it sell for?
I think it was listed as Buy it Now at $900 US.

I saw the ads, but never considered buying until I saw one up close in 2000 at a local game shop. The shop kept it in the same spot (and price!) for 16 years. I wasn't aware of how rare they had become until I bought it. Other "furniture" may come and go, but I'm never letting this one go.

I've been watching ebay for a table, I'd like one like this but with better contrast between the squares:
I've never seen anything even close to that size. I wouldn't pollute it with that nasty chess set though

You should check out the table Marcel Duchamp used to play with the Steiner pieces, themselves quite large. http://blogs.artinfo.com/lacmonfire/2015/10/20/pasadena-to-remember-duchamp/

Has anyone seen this Drueke chess table out there anywhere? I have only looked on internet sales, and haven't found one. I know of others who have seen mine, and want one of their own. Have they disappeared from the marketplace?
The chess tables are still available from Drueke.....

Thanks! I will send the link to others. Unfortunately they only seem to offer 2.25 inch squares. the 2.5 inch squares on mine truly make a difference. A special request is in order.

Check the Drueke webpage carefully - they offer many different size boards and also a chess table...

looks like some kind of medieval torture device disguised as chess table.

Check the Drueke webpage carefully - they offer many different size boards and also a chess table, as....
Are you seeing something I am not? I see they offer a chess table, with 2 1/4 inch squares only.

I dont want to burst anyone's bubble but the tables here are the best I have seen , much better than Drueke's AND about half the price ! thebestchesstables.com and this is the one I prefer : http://www.thebestchesstables.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=36&osCsid=e0ae868dd688da5ba886306e6e07e6e0

Well, except none of those fit in my home's decor.
The Drueke table would fit in any room in my home.

This seller on a popular auction site had 2 Drueke linen boards last week. Sold within a few hours after I posted about it. Now he's selling a vintage Drueke chess table with the wide borders. 30x30 w/ 2.25” squares. $920.58 (shipped). There's a crack on the seam of the border. It looks fixable with some glue and clamps.
**EDIT** SOLD. That was fast.
solid wood is weighty and luxurious...the danes call it quality!
