Thanks for the heads up.
Somewhat unique, the Knights are a little weird for me but overall a nice looking set.
And a very nice price right now. Added to my collection (like I really needed ANOTHER set) ...

I just ordered the Grand Prix set 👍🏻
I think you're going to like it. I got mine (Grand Prix also) a few days ago, it is a nice set. The board squares are a little bit undersized but I like boards like that and I can always use the pieces on a bigger board if needed.
How do you like the knights now that you've seen them in person Rsava? Do they still seam weird or are you getting used to the design?

Hi Conor,
They seem to be a little bit better but I am still getting used to them. It is a little weird that they are on a post, like a "Knight lollipop" I am sure I will get used to them the more I look at/use the set.
Overall it is a very nice set. The Rooks are stout little towers which I like in a set. The pawns are very unique. The whole set is done very nicely.
Prevision did a very nice job in the manufacture of the pieces and the packaging is very well done. Quality packaging.
Hi, overall a very nice set. I like the fact it is uncommon and modern. My preferred pieces are the Knight, very successful, and the Rook. I can't help seeing an ice ball in a cup with the Pawn, but I appreciate there is a consistency of this design with Bishop/Queen/King.
I also ordered the Grand Prix edition (mousepad board), despite the rather high shipping cost to France (with regards to the set price itself). The nice design is definitely worth the money, to my opinion. Congrats to @conorokane !
Are you going to offer the wood filament design commercially, too? I really prefer matte pieces.
Yes, I have commercial partners who sell 3D prints of my designs.
Matt Carle (https://www.etsy.com/shop/3dprintsbyMattCarle) and Idaho Crafty (https://www.etsy.com/shop/IdahoCrafty) both sell my designs in wood filament. If you don't see a style you like available in their Etsy listings you can contact them and let them know what you'd like.
Hirschi's Sweet Creations (https://hsweetcreations.com/products/ecliptic-3d-printed-chess-set) also sell them in various resins including translucent.
Here's a picture showing the Championship Edition board, the bags and the underside of the pieces which have black velvet.
And a video tour with some close-ups of each piece:
I recently purchased the Championship and Grand Prix sets, though my Championship board was damaged upon arrival, so I'll coordinate a replacement with Amazon. All in all, this is a fantastic set, which is thoughtfully weighted (not too heavy), and has an exceptional design that's easy on the eyes. Furthermore, the Knights are miraculous, and I especially love the consistent details in the King (5-sided finial), Queen (5 crenelations) and Rook (5 crenelations). Personally, I wish the board squares were larger than 2 inches (5cm), but I have no complaints, especially since the set is currently selling for $29.91 with Free 2-Day Shipping via Amazon Prime. Nice job, @conorokane!
One of the nice looking plastic chess set in my collection 👍🏻👌🏻
Thank you for the kind comment, I'm glad you're enjoying the set!
...Furthermore, the Knights are miraculous...
I'm glad you like the knight. These are the reference images I was looking at while sculpting this piece.
I wanted to convey a sense of strength and purpose with this piece, which is why I extended the sculpt down at the front to show the musculature of the neck and shoulders. I know it's an unconventional design for a knight so it's good to hear people are enjoying it and it isn't too unusual.
Your photos look great, I love the stark lighting!
Nice collection of sets, @kiwimotard - and the Ecliptic set is a good addition.
I think it is a well made set, and feels good playing with it.
Now if it would that one set that would help my rating ...
Re design of the Knight. Eliminate the stem between the horse and the base. IMO, it offers no improvement, functionally or aesthetically, over a design without it. In fact, in terms of asthetics, it detracts from the design.

I love this idea. I wonder why no-one has has tried this before. Here's how it would look:
I just need to figure out the ideal arrangement of magnets concealed within the piece to get the head to hover above the base.
@conorokane -
I have faith that you will figure it out!
The stemless Knight, that is.
I don't think the "head" per se of the horse has to hover precisely over the base. But the center of gravity of the entirety of the horse (i.e., head + neck + chest, etc.) should probably hover over the center of the base. That sort of thing.
In 2021 I released a collection of chess set designs on Kickstarter, for backers to download 3D print themselves. It featured an original set called the Ecliptic set with minimal, modern pieces and a distinctive knight. Many people without 3D printers asked me if they could purchase the set, so I'm very happy to announce that it is now available as a high-quality injection-molded plastic set.

It is sold under the brand name Prevision Chess and comes with weighted pieces, 2 extra queens, storage bags and either a fold-up board, or a roll-up mousemat style board.
While I designed the pieces, Prevision Chess handled all of the manufacturing and marketing material for this plastic set. I think they've done a very nice job. I will post an unboxing video and some close-up photographs soon. There are already some videos and photos in the Amazon reviews.
I hope you like the design, if you have any questions about the pieces feel free to ask.
