Endgame book for a weak player

Hi,

can anyone recommend an endgame book for me.

I'm not looking for something too specific, rather something that covers the basics of the most common endgames and gives me a gameplan in most situations.

It should be really easy to understand, I'll leave the complex stuff for later on.

Thanks in advance

Pandolfini's Endgame Course is way less ambitious and easier to read cover-to-coever than Silman's (though THAT is a better book IMHO) .

Make sure you get the errata online for it before you start working on those puzzles/studies.

I'm a fan of Silman's Complete Endgame Course as it's broken up by what endgames you need to know for a given playing strength to help you progress in a logical fashion.

Winning Chess Endgames by Seirawan or Pandolfini's Endgame Course would be appropriate of what your are looking for.
