I remember a quote, and dont recall who said it but...
A mistake in the opening, you can recover from.
A mistake in the middlegame will hurt you.
A mistake in the endgame will kill you.

I will add this book to my list of books to get.
Definitely a great one. I finished learning 100 Endgames on Chessable and now I look forward to testing out my Bishop + Knight mate and some of the more complicated technical endgames. If you don't have time to learn the whole thing by heart like I did then start with Chapter 1 and Chapter 12 as they are probably the most useful ones in the whole book for casual players, beginners and intermediate players. Whether you do it online or buy the physical book, as the OP said.. this book is well worth it
