My eye opener from Sadler's book is that AlphaZero rarely pursues a minority attack. Yet almost every general chess book has a chapter praising such a maneuver. A puzzlement.

Hi folks,

I'm Rapid 1750 rated.

Currently reading "1001 Deadly checkmates " by John Nunn.

It's absolutely changed my way of playing. Suddenly i become an attacking player trying to force mating patterns at all cost.

Please suggest me the books which had great impact on your playing style or something which made your eyes open.

Disclaimer: My eye opener book is Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess and

Playing style changer is 1001 Deadly checkmates by Nunn.

Please list yours. Also suggest me your favourite mate training books.

So I personally use this italian chess book I've learned italian while I was studying in Bologna so it was kind of learning a foreign language and also learning some openings hah I hope it will help you find a perfect book for you or maybe you could find some good translations for this book, but it's kind of advanced!A friend of mine reccomended me this website https://gradesfixer.com/words/400-word-essay/ ,and it really helped me.The passages that i couldn't really understand opened to me in a new way.I even wrote a small 400 word essay to evaluate my comprehension.Kudos to them!

Neil McDonald's Ruy Lopez Move by Move published by Everyman is the best introduction to the Lopez that I know. It deals with concepts and key themes with illustrative games and is very well written. It changed the way I approached the opening and made me realise that I shouldn't be reluctant to adopt such a great opening.
