It is a beautiful board, but the price looks really expensive to me. I know that some chess boards cost a ton (I am not too knowledgeable on price specifics), but usually you are just paying for brand name.

As far as buying from Etsy, I seldom use that site, but I've never had any bad experiences with it.

The board looks great.

The price is not extremely high for the quality.

The shipping is higher because it is being sent from Ukraine.

Etsy is a market place.  You need to assess the quality of the seller.  In this case it is highly rated with well over 650 reviews.  This is a good sign.

I would look around for a more local seller.  For this type of board I would look at House of Staunton.  You could also look at the Chess House and even call and talk with them about the product you want.

There are other sellers on Etsy that are also of such a high quality.  I would look for these.  I don’t think you will be able to find this type of quality for a much lower price.  In fact you will see higher prices than this.  But that is part of the fun, looking, searching and shopping.

Eyechess - Thanks for the input *EXACTLY* what I was looking for, I've been scouring local US Chess shop including House of Staunton (My default) and Chess USA (Love the JLP - inheriting the Drueke DNA).  Unfortunately for me, I've not been able find another chess board that strikes my fancy like this one from BeautyUkraine...   happy.png  I've seen some beautifully finished MAPLE BURL boards from both websites, and originally was "JONESING" for them, but the more I looked at them the more I kept going back to Etsy less flashy/gaudy/"loud" and more subdued/conservative look that kind of welcomes people to play a friendly/casual game...  Rather than a POSH/STIFF (intimating???) grandiose chess match...  LOL  I know, I know, it's totally subjective...

Goodness help me, I'm accumulating more boards than I have places to play...

...  Keep an eye out on this forum, I may just yet pull the trigger on this Ukraine Beauty!!!  grin.png grin.png grin.png

Well, did I say I really like this board?  Well, I do really like it and for all the reasons you say.

It is well done without being flashy or gaudy or too ornate.  And I really like the wood combinations they use.
