Just so you all know, Doctor Ron is sending me off one of his boards so I can match the colors exactly.  I will keep you informed on the progress as soon as I get the board in.

thanks

Shelby

Will you make these available for sale to others??  Thanks, Bill

I have a roll-up vinyl board that I purchased years ago from Legend Products.  It's buried around here somewhere.  It has green squares that are close to the shade under discussion here.  I would link to it but the Legend website layout makes that difficult.  I have no idea if Dennis still sells them.

I will send Shelby a Legend Products vinyl board along with one of my Drueke linen boards.

Thanks to Ron. I assume it is an original linen board. I only have one I bought back in the early '80s.  I would prefer the colors of the Drueke Linen board myself. You can put me down for one. Use the markings that are the most popular for the markings, I believe that is small case letters?

Yes Mike, it is an original Drueke linen board.  And it is in brand new shape.  In fact it still has the original piece of wax paper in it so the two sides of squares don’t touch each other when folded.

Wow! That is so nice @Eyechess. I don't know many members or people in general would do this.

Eyechess

Oh, don’t compliment me so.  I might get a big head or something.  Seriously, thanks.

Haha! I doubt you'll get a big head. Anyhow you're welcome.

Here’s a quick pic with my phone.  My wife just went to bed so the lighting is very limited.

I’m shipping it tomorrow with the Legend Products Vinyl board to Shelby.

LOVE! My 4" Lardy pieces are reserved for the first game on that Red and Black when it arrives.

**EDIT**

If I had to be critical, I think the notations could be smaller in size (or thinner font) so it doesn't distract during play. Maybe not so much on this board since it's a super bold black and red for chrissakes. But on a board with more conventional colors, smaller notations might be appreciated. On the black and red, I don't mind it as-is. And my son (who is learning notation) won't mind it either.

That black and red board is SO GOOD!

This is funny.  I was just telling Shelby the letters and numbers needed to be smaller.  He agreed.

I called him just after shipping the Drueke linen board and Legend Products vinyl board to him.

+1 here as well. It is very nice. I would buy one if you had it for sale. Let me know if you do.

Wow, that brought back memories of the wax paper. I did discard mine but the board itself has seen 2 games if that. I keep it behind the bookcase so it does not fade from the sun or light. If he can duplicate those colors without trying to make them bright I will buy a couple. The worse thing is to make the tan/beige or whatever color you call the light squares too bright.

Thanks again, Ron.

What does the Legend board look like?

ogbumblingpatzer

I think this is the Legend vinyl board (sorry for the poor photography).

Eyechess

Yes, but it is more yellow than the photo.  And the green looks different also.

And Mike, isn’t this fun?

Pawnerai

In a pinch,,, when taking a photo and using it to show color representation, it's helpful to have a piece of white paper somewhere. And something with a constant familiar color like a red can of CocaCola. So we can see if there is color shift or lighting correction needed. It's not ideal, but it's better than nothing.
