For years, "Chess in a Nutshell" was one of the only chess books carried in my local bookstore.

That's a pretty small Chess section for a bookstore!

Older books looked to be sold at Barns & Noble and published by Dover for prices like $1.50 not sure what it would cost today. Here are some of my Fred Reinfeld books (written, edited or annotated).

Great collection of Reinfeld books! I've sent you a personal invite to the club; hoping you'll join and re-post your collection there!

I've begun an outline and ongoing commentary on Reinfeld's 1952  'First Book of Chess', and including concepts from many of the lesson-pages which were NOT included in the later published Book One within his 'The Complete Chess Course' - being an abridged 684 page omnibus reprint of material selected from all 818 pages total of the original individual 8 'Books of Chess'; which upon reprint, cut Book One down from 126 detailed pages of material, now condensed to 33 fast-moving pages  - as it's own dedicated thread with diagrams, containing my thoughts and initial commentary in order to open the discussion with any and all who are interested to read, share their thoughts, and discuss things in detail there. Go to: Social>Clubs>The Fred Reinfeld Study Group>Forum>The First Book Of Chess https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/the-first-book-of-chess if you have interest and would like to discuss concepts as I go back and work/study my way through the series of 8 books in their complete and original form, beginning with Book One - which is proving to be a very illuminating and enlightening exercise to me, indeed; I would love to find some more Reinfeld study-partners to converse with, so we can all enjoy improving together and motivating each other.

I have a very old, worn out copy of "Great Brilliancy Prize Games of the Chess Masters." I've spent many, many evenings over the years playing through those games on my chess board! I also own "Chess Traps, Pitfalls & Swindles."
