rightclick a .pgn file, "open with..." pick F14, and tick the default box.

When I try this I just get the Fritz splash menu where you're required to choose from: Play Deep Fritz, Playchess.com, Database and Quit.
Selecting either Play Deep Fritz or Database simply opens them in their last state and not with the PGN that I right-clicked loaded.

did you know that God 7.0(self generator of self) can beat Fritz and Grandmaster together with no problem and is a fans of Houdini? ...I'm kidding

I don't have F14, so I can't say for sure. Isn't there an option to bypass the startup splash screen?
I have some experience with the latest Chessbase releases (which I don't like- I prefer older versions like CB10 and Chessbase 2009 Premium) there is a menu option "register file types". Does this exist on F14, or not?
A quick look in the Windows Task Manager shows the game program running as "...\ChessProgram14.exe -DeepFritz14". I'll see if I can do something with that...

press open, not the arrow beside it but the button
then on new window again press file
then the open button and not the arrow beside it
select pgn file from dropdown
find your file
press open
double click opened file to open it on deepfritz 14 GUI

A quite clunky unclear and out of date functioning database interface. Its worst aspect and reason to consider other chess programs. Should be better at this stage of its development and more clear instruction. People have to search and find posts on here etc to navigate. A quite frustrating interface and expect better for what is paid.

Is it possible to configure Fritz 14 such that when I double-click on a PGN file Fritz is opened and it is automatically loaded into the game interface? I have a Windows 7 computer.
I know how to open PGN files via the Fritz database application but this would be more convenient.
