Fritz on PS3

Hi All,

I was thinking about buying Fritz for PS3 and I wondered if anyone here has tried it. All the reviews seem to be from non-chess playing people and no one really gives it a good workout. I'd be interested to know if it's actually a serious piece of chess software if it's just a game for beginners and/or people having a break from Final Fantasy 3000.

Cheers

I have it on my iPad. Actually it is really for the iPhone but it works fine on the iPad. It is ok. Of course not anything as good as fritz on the pc Stwils..

thanks stwils - what is the opening book like? And does it tell you which opening is being played with variations etc?

No. Only the first response the to first reply to your opening.

thanks mate - very helpful. Think I'll be giving it a miss then. Might have a look around for chessmaster on ps2 instead. Need something for comfy sofa chess!

If you just want to play on a gaming console or portable device, any flavor will work.

But if you want to use stronger engines built for 64-bit operating systems and multi-core computers along with well-constructed opening books and established endgame tablebases, stick with the PC. Cool
