Don't completely be disheartened yet . Hopefully Steve Lopez from USCF sales will see this thread, and be able to help or steer you in the right direction. He is extensively knowledgeable about Fritz 13, literally producing 10 or more extensive videos on youtube about that product, and answering questions right here in the forum you have posted in. I'm interested to see if he can help you. Let's see if we can keep this topic bumped up to top in hopes he will see and help.
Fritz13 Problems

thanks for the reply Tfulk. In the meantime I did find a support page on chessbase website (or should I say Google find it for me?). I sent in a support ticket and haven't heard back yet. I will give them a few more days before I get my $40 back from Amazon.

I'm not a complete whiz when it comes to things like this, but not entirely shappy, either. Check your Fritz13 and see if it requires DirectX (and what version) or OpenGL; then, check your system (start/run/type: dxdiag) and see if you have the appropriate drivers. Also, check memory and operating system requirements for Fritz and make sure that your system has the required resources.
bythor have you tried updating the program? Its under File/Activation/Update program. Basically you would install, activate, update. Do this before restarting the program. Fritz 13 is on version 8. The version on the DVD is only version 1.
Also word of advice: Fritz 13 only allows 3 activations so be sure to deactivate the program if you're going to uninstall it. This way you don't lose your activations.
Hi All,
Never had excitement turned into frustration so quickly before. I finally received my copy of Fritz13 yesterday however I cannot make it work.
It install fine, and it runs fine for the first time. However, if I close it, or if my laptop goes to sleep, Fritz refuses to restart. The app actually crashes. I tried to uninstall/install 3 times and the issue reproduces consistenly.
Has anyone run into this issue before? I am about to return it to Amazon since chessbase has no knowledge base or contact information on their website.
