How goes the hunt? Order anything yet?

Not yet, but I fancy the Dubrovnik Staunton pieces, that has a reciprocal dot on the bishops. I think I want them in black (so ebony or ebonized, not sure what’s best) and a slightly lightly coloured board.

Dubrovnik is one of my favorites too.

Yes, maybe I’ll go for a slightly smaller set/ travel set that I can bring with me, I don’t really have anyone to play OTB with here, but just to have a chess set for analyzing etc. would be great.

Great idea, I’ve played in chess clubs for many years in Denmark (where I come from), but haven’t really seen any here in Canada... but I guess I’ll go on the hunt, alternatively I can always start one here grin.png

If you just want something for on the go, I can recommend this.

The Marshall chess pieces are nice. I saved money by not getting the clock. Don't really need one yet. You pick the bag you want, the board you want and the pieces. It all fits in the bag and you're ready to travel. I didn't put board in the bag though. I was recommended using a shipping tube to store it. I bought one 2"x24".

This is a review of all those plastic sets. Different company but same sets.
