Hey, I was wondering where I could get a good decorative chess set for under 200 bucks. I'm looking for a nice wood set, but all I can find are cheap travel ones that don't look that great or insanely overpriced ones that will kill my wallet.

Can you please tell us which kind of sets you like? As a collector, I like very much chess sets which were used to play, in opposition to chess sets which were produced to decorative purposes. For example, I like the old Stauntons or Vienna coffee house sets.

They both look really good. im not looking for anything super fancy. i took a look at the old stauntons and that seems like the style i would like to go for.

You could try chesshouse.com and houseofchess.com - you may find something in that price range that you like.  Maybe.

Old Russian chess sets are also beautiful. He can find something really nice between 150 and 200, for example in eBay

Ah, a good idea!  Try hunting around etsy, too!

Staunton Castle Paul Morphy 3.5" Chessmen. It seems to be discontinued on his website, ebay and etsy. Only to be found on his store on Amazon for 143 USD.
