It sounds to me it may be an En Passant issue... Is there a pawn at b5?
Help w/ 5334 Chess Problems
ohhhhhhh, i got it now. Thank you. The puzzle was white mates in one, never occured to me to think of black's previous move!
Thanks again!

Are those the last two problems from the two-move set? Yes, those were both irritating to me, because one is the en passant, and then I think the last one you have to realize you can castle queenside, which did not occur to me, to the point I actually had to look the solution up, irritatingly.
Hello everyone,
I am new to all of this and I have purchased the book Chess by Laszlo Polgar. I am doing ok with it except for one snag. Page 105, Game # 306. The solution is listed as ab6. I do not understand how that would work. It looks to me as if they are saying the pawn would capture to an empty square. Is this a typo or am I overlooking something?
Thanks,
Michael
