Help with identifying a Chavet Boxwood Chess Set
i have just became the proud owner of these. can someone identify those pieces? thanks in advance
Looks to me like a size 4 (82mm or 83mm) set. I think this was the B207 (?) set. Can anyone comfirm?

King's height 82mm, base diameter 33mm, pawn 42mm, base 24,mm
Also, it would be nice if someone could give the ballpark for the period

Audioq is correct, that is a B207 "antiqued" version, what Chavet calls a N.4 now a days. I have the same set, the one from Harrods I showed on the unfinished (sorry guys) Chavet guide. Compare the shapes, pretty much identical. The only difference is the fake patina and the Knight's eyes that are missing on yours. I'm pretty sure the set is not that old (around 2000's) simply because the King's cross is already thick, like the "new" design Chavet makes now. Check Rondo's King 4,75". The older (90's and earlier) design is thinner, more elegant. Still, a wonderful find and lovely set. I would not sell mine, that's for sure.

This last picture might give more clues... the box design and missing felt on the pieces belongs to a different series. At least, that's how Chavet does things now. Again, check on the guide. Maybe your set is a B107? I just made that up but trying to follow the logic of the current numbering. Maybe if you take a closer picture to the label or the back of the box...

Chavet. The pieces whose picture you showed are the standard kind of cheap polish wood chess pieces. They’re made in Poland by a company called Wegiel. The one you have in particular is on the smaller side and cheaper.
Did someone sell you this set telling you they are Chavet or whatever?
