How is there not a Confederacy of Dunces themed chess set in this world?

I am just getting back into chess, and I have an old silicone mat with weighted plastic pieces which is fun to play with, but I was considering buying a nicer wooden kit. Googled COD themed chess sets and no links, past or present. It's a shame.

Such a wonderful cast of characters to choose from:

Ignatius and Irene Reilly, Myrna Minkoff, Lana Lee, Mancuso, Jones, Darlene, Miss Trixie, Dorian Greene, Santa Battaglia...

Maybe one day.

People who buy Franklin Mint themed sets tend to not be serious chess players. Also, the Confederacy of Dunces is more of a niche market idea, so it probably wouldn't sell well.

Simply because that book and later movie isn't known enough to have a "themed" set for it.

If only there had been a movie. They tried several times to make a movie but each time failed. There was a play based on it that was pretty successful I think.
