looks like a 1915-1929 Nimzovich knight....upon further inspection.

It could very well be a 1972 Fischer vs Spassky Jaques chess set. They both look close IMO.

Hi Guys

can anyone help identify the year of Jaques set ? It is ebony/boxwood with a 4 inch king, boxwood king marked Jaques London.

Looks like a "Lasker" set, ie ca. 1880...

Hi Frank, yes thats what I originaly thought, however this set has the boxwood king stamp but not the ebony. ... and I believe the lasker set had both stamped ?

I believe Jaques started stamping both Kings 1885-90 (ie the Pre-Hartston sets), so white King only stamp should be correct for a Lasker set. I'm sure Allan will correct me if I'm wrong.
