I stand corrected....You learn something new every day.
Imperial Staunton (Reproduction) / Sinquefield Cup 2014 Series Chess Set - ChessBazaar

Small update.
I failed to inspect this set rigorously and thoroughly (specifically the pawns) out of the box upon delivery and it was kept inside the coffer for at least two months since January.
As a result sometime in March I discovered a relatively large crack in one of the pawns, which is hidden easily depending on lighting or angle.
Admittedly I was disappointed. I believe this crack was present from the start as the RH has been overall acceptable. It also almost seems the lacquer was applied over the crack but that is a conclusion I can't really prove. ChessBazaar promptly answered and as of March 15, 2021 they will be sending replacements.

I feel for you. I always turn the pieces slowly to check for stuff but I have to admit I miss stuff too sometimes. It happens. At least CB did not give you any push back when you reported the crack.

They asked for images and asked if I wanted to purchase another item to receive express shipping. Otherwise regular mail. I chose the latter.
That's the thing with C.B. from my experiences in the past(which were quite a few)....I always feel I have a chance of an issue buying from them....but....They do come through!
You'll be fine!

Good choice. Snail mail should be fine.

Same here. They came through for my one and only experience with them so far.

I feel the carvers did a phenomenal job as far as designing the set and proportions. The quality dips on assembly and wood prep--a sacrifice that is made with such low prices--and now the worldwide demand and pandemic.
Given these circumstances I think that it was still a nice purchase. In the future once the dust settles I'm not entirely against purchasing from them again.
Maybe one day I'll get the HoS version of this set with their patented weight system since I love this set so much.
Sounds good to me.....Btw,you are absolutely spot on with your comments about assembly and wood prep from them.....I am hopeful that this aspect picks up,because I have my eye on the Ceska Kublovka set.....C.B. and H.O.S. offer a simply stunning version, but once C.B. offers their usual decent discounts(they're not doing so right new at 15%) I have to seriously consider it.
Love the H.O.S. version, but definitely not their price.

Once the season gets hotter and people become more and more vaccinated, I reckon the demand and prices for chess equipment will plummet. We will also see large amounts of discounts after that since the manufacturers or retailers will have a bunch of leftovers from the boom demand.

The "old school" 2013 Sinquefield Cup chess pieces are on full display streaming LIVE now at the Ultimate Moves exhibition chess event, a casual team-based event with Saint Louis Chess Club co-founder Rex Sinquefield playing on one team and Saint Louis Chess Club board member Mike Lueken playing on the competing team.
It's fun to see these top players in a casual environment with a bit of trash talking mixed in. The 2013 Sinquefield set is looking pretty sharp on the board!

This exhibition kicks off the Saint Louis Chess Club, Chess 9LX tournament, using Fischer Random, and a $150,000 total prize fund. Great fun!

@MCH818......thank you. I can’t wait to play my 1st game on it.
@magictwanger....they are one in the same, like sheesham/golden rosewood. If you look at the set on the website (bud rosewood) below the details (height, base, weight) it says
dark pieces.......Bud Rosewood/Padauk (Dalbergia maritima)
