SmallChess has it. Look at my screenshot. In addition, it has AI analysis for your variation and position. There is also a slider for showing how well the position is for White and Black. Check out their website www.smallchess.com.

Any free apps on the market ? Just a variation board as an app ?
Stockfish? If you mean a free app that can give you a variaion board without actually losing the current state of the game, I'm not aware there is any. An ability to create a variation board is an advanced feature, and usually not free.
Maybe someone else can recommend.
@MBrades: I just need a variation board - without a chess game running in the back. Say, I am working through a book at the sub and want to clear out the described turns from the book on my Iphone. That`s what I am looking for. Is this Stockfish ??
Chess pro with coach has the possibility to play variations. Once on a while, it is on sale, I bought it for just euro 0,89 last month. There is also a free/trial version.
Yes. Chess pro supports variations but it is not that convientent. It should do your job nicely although no where close to SmallChess. However if you are looking just for a simple variation board and nothing more, it should be sufficient. Post back here if you have any problems!
