Is this Chavet? Just Curious

Hi there.

I'm not at all interested in buying this but my curiosity has got the better of me and I wanted to ask if this was a chavet or not?

The Knights do not look right to me as I always thought they were carved from one piece of wood?

Would be interested to hear what you think.

The Knight looks very simple, not sure it was ever that simple.

Is this a small set like 8cm tall king, this could be, maybe 1975-1985

That's not a Chavet knight but a mainstream Lardy knight but the set could very well be made by chavet. I'm not quite sure what's the deal between Chavet and Lardy but there seems to be a time they were working together closely.

Thanks for reply replies. The knight didn't look right to me although I'm still in the very early days of learning about Chavet sets.

Does anyone know how you can tell a reproduction Chavet set from an original one? I bought a small 7cm height King set online. I believe it's a b202 but there was very limited information as the seller didn't know anything about chess sets and there was no photo of label.

I decided to take a chance on it as was only £30. Will post photos when I get it.

Ahh right OK that's helpful to know. Was wondering if they only reproduced a certain size.

I'll post photos when I get my set 🙂.
