Very impressive! Surely this isn't your first set, so I'd also love to see others you've made.
Just sharing my Dubrovnik set with you all

Very kind of you to say @lotsoblots ๐. Actually truth be told these are the first pieces I've made. I've made some boards (folding and flat, like the one above) but that's it. There was definitely a learning curve on carving the Knights, though the rook tops also made me scratch my head a bit as well before I came up with a satisfactory solution.
I'll post the boards shortly!

Now THAT'S a BEAUT! The level of talent required to create this is amazing. I like your choice of Jatoba/Brazillian cherry wood as well. As a point of reference it takes Gregor roughly 26 work hours to make a Dubrovnik set and that's with years of experience under his belt. What an achievement. A true labor of love. Thanks for sharing!ย

Thank you for the kind words about my set that's incredible that he's able to turn out a full set in 26 hours, this one took me a while but it turned out better than I expected of myself!ย

Keep practicing and screwing up pawns. I blew up about 20 of them before I got anything respectable, after that I slowly got better and better until I was able to race through them at the end ย

Congrats. You made a very nice set!
High praise indeed coming from one such as yourself! The Dubrovnik expert! Thank you ๐

I built a few of these boards. This one is 52mm (heavy 2") and is a bit tight for this set, I'm debating changing it to a Dubrovnik set stored inside. It's entirely my design, a folding board with fitted coffers lined with velvet. Made of purpleheart and fiddleback maple, the pieces are the "Elite" set from Staunton castle.
I think it looks beautiful! Really lovely lines, and the hand-wrought, rustic look of the knights gives the set a real charm. Whenever you inevitably decide to make a new set to continue to hone your craft, let me know and I'd be happy to purchase this one from you to free up space! ย

Very kind of you to say thank you!

That is a beautiful set, incredible for a first effort. But of course you have lots of experience with the boards, that shows. Your folding board looks brilliant with that SC set.ย
If you're interested in the work, I'm certain you could find customers to buy your Dubies coupled with that or a similar folding board.
Thank you very much the folding boards were inspired by the original folding Dubrovnik board, however I wanted to add little feet to ensure the hinges didn't stop the board from laying flat. I ended up making 3 of these folding boards (plus one proof of concept) and gave one to my brother, the other two are still in my possession. One is figured Walnut and Figured Maple, it may look sharp with my walnut and maple Dubrovnik set!

Incredible work, happy to see that there are people talented in carving with this high precision. Sincerely, congrats @Ibuildchess, beautiful sets.
Ive been on the NOJ waitlist for some time and given the cost they charge for their sets: I wanted to see if a Dubrovnik set was worth that much to me. So I made my own 2 full Dubrovnik sets. They're not perfect, but I am happy with them. I decided to go unweighted with the set as that is traditional for a Dubrovnik set. I see how this set could alleviate a alot of stress in regards to breakage, the Knights are so compact/tight that there are no concerns of breaking off an ear/mane, though all those collars definitely make me worry. Without further ado: here is my Jatoba and Maple Dubrovnik set pictured on my 2" curly sapele and curly maple board:
