Kodi is more than a "media veiwer" like WMP.
Kodi is a complete home theater/media system, designed to be setup in a Server/Client configuration. It is was formerly called XBMC (XBox Media Center). It has been around since 2002.
There are others out there (such as Plex and Emby) that do as much or maybe even more but the open source nature of Kodi and the user community makes the number of add-ons and plug-ins for Kodi much higher.
Here is a search for Kodi repositories ("repos") that may help you find more chess stuff:

I have recently come across a great new software program that is entirely free--Kodi. If interested in downloading it you can google it. Kodi is a media viewer, like WMP on steriods. One of the addons for Kodi is YouTube which contains thousands of videos about chess and Kodi is an excellent way to view these files. It is much better than the online viewer YouTube provides because there is less buffering and Kodi provides a sound amplifier. I am mentioning it here because I am interested in finding out how many chess.com users also have found this free download and I am looking for more addons that include chess videos. So if anyone knows of any such addons, please do let me know.
