I'm not sure if chessbase works on mac's. I might be wrong but I thought it was windows only.
MacBook Pro - Apple M1 Max Chip

You are looking for someone who has a FIDE of 2100+, a MacBook Pro 2022, who uses Chessbase, and who is active on these forums?
Not meaning to make light of the request, but that’s so insanely specific that perhaps a handful of people, at best, would fit that criteria, let alone frequent this forum. Good luck with your purchase!

Chessbase only works under Windows. If you want to run on a Mac you have several options:
a) Try the better Hiarcs Chess Explorer Pro which has support for Mac.
b) Try Scid or ScidvsMac which also supports Mac and has many functions of CB.
c) Run Chessbase in a virtual machine (Parallels, VMWare, Virtualbox) or emulator (WineHQ). I've been able to load up to CB12 under Wine and understand that CB13 works too. I was unsuccesful running my CB15 version.
d) Using Bootcamp, boot into Windows. I'm not entirely sure about the constraints with the M chip since I don't have one.

I have a MacBook Pro, and I have an Alienware desktop machine. I loaded ChessBase on the Alienware PC, I didn’t even bother with the MacBook.

@DaisyDuckworth
I decided not to use my MacBook with Parallels for Chessbase. I decided for a DELL XPS 13.

Side-by-Side Comparison
The MacBook Pro 14 has a sharper and more colorful screen, a better touchpad and webcam, and a much wider port selection. Apple's M1 SoC performs better than any of the XPS 13's Intel 11th Gen. processors, and it's more power-efficient, giving the MacBook Pro 14 longer battery life. ioS its a pain when it comes to chess .
I’m in the process of purchasing a new laptop and have narrowed my choice down to 2 machines - a Dell XPS 15 and an Apple MacBook Pro 14”.
Key for me is how Chessbase functions. Apple is cheaper BUT Chessbase is not built for ioS. So I was wondering if any players (2100+ Fide), use Chessbase with their MacBook Pro 2022 and what the functionality was like on your machines?
Many thanks for your replies!
