Do you mean to make puzzles out of these positions? I think many people would like that and the publisher might not even mind if you included links to the book so that people might buy the book after looking at the positions you post.
Mammoth Book of Chess - Animated
Do you mean to make puzzles out of these positions?
My main intention is simply to animate sequences of moves given in the book. If you want to take the examples and turn them into puzzles then go ahead, but please create them in a new thread. I want this thread to focus on, simply, animating Graham's book. So this thread is really only something that will be of interest to those who have the book.
For instance, an example I can't follow in my head is given on p.42. My idea is only to give the initial position and moves. What I will not mention is the motivation and the goal of the moves, hence keeping to the spirit of copyright, but using the "mash up" between chess.com and the book to enhance the reading of the book. I'll do this by simply posting the position and moves emenating from that position... including those mind & board bending variations :)
I'm reading "The Mammoth Book of Chess" by Graham Burgess, which seems like a good book to me. But I think it would benefit from some online animation. I could just do this "for myself", but it could benefit others , so I'll post the animations in this thread. I don't want to steal the author's work so I'll not include any commentary, just the positions and games, i.e., the bits that would benefit from animation! I'll also not bother animating the simple stuff that even I can animate in my head. If the author, publishers or chess.com admin. say "cease and desist, this breaks copyright", I will stop this thread.
I'll start with the following position, shown on p.40 of Grahams' book. I could animate this in my head, but I'll use it as an easy illustration to kick start this thread. Note, I don't show the correct solution, read Graham's book to find out... if you don't see it...
