Menu missing in Training games - Chess Forums

Is CM 11 supposed to have a menu at the top in the training window? I run Win 7 64 bit. I have no way to save my games from the training window. Is this a compatibility problem, or is that the way CM 11 is designed. I can't find a reference in the manual about how to save games either. Kind of weird.

Help if you can.

Well, I guess I should repost, since you switched threads on me, and I don't know if you're going to read my post in the other thread.

You could try this, I found it in the CM11 FAQ:

Q: I can't see the menus. What's wrong?
A: Lower your DPI settings (in the Control Panel\Display\Settings), or click on the empty space where the drop down menus like File, Edit, etc. are supposed to be and they will appear.

P.S. Also, it can't hurt to ask - Have you checked to see if the two patches for CM11 have been installed?

Re the patches: I'm still using the the version 1.0. I looked for the patches but couldn't find them.

I sort of solved the problem. Copied the chess engines from Chessmaster 11 over to Chessmaster 9000. That gave me a nice new crop of payers in CM9000. But I do like the look and feel of CM11. Do you happened to know where I can get those patches?

Hey, guess what? I started CM11 and suddenly its downloading autopatch. Is that you doing that.

I'm a novelist and I write all day, so I tend not to have the patience to play detective on the Ubisoft website. I certainly will try your suggestions.

LOL. I tried the new settings and the menus didn't show up. I downloaded and tried to install the autopatch, and after it was over, it said, Patch 1.2 is already installed. Duh! Then I reopened CM11 and hovered my mouse over the areas where the menu items are supposed to be and like magic they pop up. So, problem solve. I can save my games and keep CM 11 to play with.

Yeah, somewhere on the Ubisoft site it says that CM11 should autoinstall the patches, but it doesn't always happen; Sometimes you have to install them yourself. I guess you shouldn't have to mess with the patches any more, but just so you know, here's where people can get them (They're right at the top of the page, the 1.01 update and 1.02 update) -
