Modern chess set from the 1970s designed by Felice Antonio Botta

Today in a flea market in Bern (Switzerland) I found this amazing plexiglass chess set designed by Botta. I usually don’t collect modern sets, but this is special, as it from the 1970s

and the price was a fraction of the value of such an item.

I am specialized in modern chess sets. Basically I bought it because the price. I payed only 50 Swiss Francs for it. Usually they are sold for something between 1800 and 2200 (without board 500), as the designer is known. And the set is in pristine condition. (The seller told me that his father bought it new in the 1970s and was the only owner).

I will probably sell it for collectors specialized in this kind of set. In the meantime it is decorating my living room 😊

Very unique and interesting. It's nice to have some different looks in a collection.

Pieces are a bit confusing, but that's a nice find!
