I'm done with buying, this collection covers everything I want happy.png

martinbchess

All those sets have lovely character. The boards look good too.

lotsoblots

As always, I love your photos. I really need to find something like your smaller chavet set for my "study" board.

TheOneCalledMichael

Cheers mister 1 and 2. Yes those boards are poor man's Jaques boards happy.png

TheOneCalledMichael

I made a deal with mister MCH818, as long he doesn't buy SC Morphy in rosewood then I won't buy anything either lol

Schachmonkey
Great sets I’m at that place too.
TheOneCalledMichael

Nah you know me, I'm honest when I'm not caught lying.

Powderdigit
What a lovely way to start the day before heading off to work … coffee in hand, wandering (‘virtually’) through Michael’s collection. A study in functional beauty and I enjoy how you’ve matched various analog clocks with each set too. 👍
lotsoblots

Well said, @Powerdigit! I made a second closer pass through the photos with a coffee in hand, too! grin.png

chessroboto

Beautiful collection of practical sets. All that are needed to complete the collection are digital clocks, computer-connected boards and digitally-identifiable pieces that work on chess.com and lichess.com.

CringeBlunderman
Thanks for this lovely post, would you mind listing the clocks as well?
magictwanger

Very nice! I can see why you're happy, but the urge will hit if you keep watching this forum and frequent online sellers.....Guaranteed!

Tank1366

Very nice sets Michael and your stunning photos never fail to get my chesstosterone levels up.

Wits-end

Thank you for the guided tour through the very nice sets, clocks, and boards. (And clocks mind you) Wondering though, the reason behind the white Queens Knight gazing off to its left and averting its focus from the battle field in each photo?

TheOneCalledMichael

@mister roboto nah I'm old school guy so I'm good happy.png

@mister buddy can't wait to see the Cooke Luxury set happy.png that's one set that might bring me back to the dark side.

@mister cringe 1. MOM made in Hungary 2. Jerger made in Germany 3. Jerger in plastic casing although with the same movement as it's wooden sibling 4. Jantar in plastic casing made in Russia

@mister magic yeah this forum is a blessing and curse at the same time lol it was here that I learned the existence of Noj Dubrovnik 1950 and it was love at first sight. Now 8 months later I have it happy.png

@mister wits it's only for showing the side profile of the knight. It can also help to identify which set it is.

magictwanger

Well, all kidding aside,I hope you get many years of pleasure  from that fine collection.

Wits-end

Ah, that makes sense. Only the true collectors picked up on the reasoning. I merely enjoy the pictures and live through those like yourself. Thank you again.

TheOneCalledMichael

You're welcome mister buddy! There is also another reason, most of the knight if not all are at their prettiest when looking from the side happy.png

jacmater

Very nice collection mr. One, you have a good eye and a refined taste for chess pieces. I will be empathetic with you and not make any other set until you can afford another one.
