Congrats! I really like those Soviet knights!

Both are beautiful! Congratulations! How tall is the red king? Also I'm thinking it's paduk or blood wood?

felonet

Wow that Soviet set is amazing. I didn't know SC made soviet-style sets!

SC / Mandeep is on a roll lately, bringing out many new sets lately one after another. Classy looking sets, congratz! He's one of the best carver in the world.

The soviet set surely looks tempting, what finish did you choose? Antiqued distressed boxwood?

felonet

Dang this soviet set looks so good... Do you think it would look better in Red Wood & Natural Boxwood? Or Ebony & Natural Boxwood?

And why did you have to post this set...

ECKmasters

@Felonet...i think for a Russian Set, it's usual to use Ebony and old Antique Boxwood, and i have posted that Set to make publicity to Mandeep and Staunton Castle👌✌

I agree with what Michael stated in post # 6.Having just received the SC Ceska Klubovka set,it definitely appears to be a cut above.Extremely well carved and finished! Take the holiday pricing into account and this guy is almost giving these gems away.

From the time I ordered my SC set,it took one week to get here in the Northeast USA and SC continually gave updates as to where it was.....Packaging was the way all sets should be done.

Great vendor.

@ECKmasters - which set did you base this Russian design off? I have not seen a Russian set with such flaired rooks before

overall both of these sets look great. But I would probably pick something more traditional looking and not so carefully and decoratively crafted. I would be afraid to use the pieces freely as I would always be afraid to drop and break them. Also for me the high degree of detail would be distracting. Still they look great.

@felonet...this Russian model was copied from a Russian plastic play set from the 70s
