New possible chess set design

If I get the money, yes, I would buy it. I currently am playing on a beautiful marble board, but it came from a garage sale years ago. My pieces were glass of crappy quality and they all chipped and got sharp edges and were just junk and I got rid of them. I'm stuck with plastic now that is so cheaply done that they are hollow. Yours would be a great upgrade. =P

Actually, I was planning on a board design as well. Trust me, unless you're buying from MegaChess.com (for one of their smaller boards), you won't find a marble board big enough to compensate for the 6" set.

Of course, the design also comes in scalled down sizes of 3.75"and 4.625" tall. Maybe a board will work with these smaller sizes. =)

Second row, fourth column.

Thanks again for your help Alex. I like that variation, too, amoung the few that I think works well.

Do you think the crenels on the base platform look appropriate? Or is it rather awkward on the eyes?

Cam_and_Alex

The outside crenels are a bit too much, in my opinion.

I sort of felt this way too.

However, do you think it will work with those upper crowns that has no crenels? The variation in the first row, first column, for example. Or, the first row, 3rd column.

I was a bit excited to see a new replier, FrankHelwig. Did you want to say something? =D

I think it works, but I think the crenels on the upper crowns add a special something to it still. Maybe that's just me though. =P

If you're concerned about those crenels, I also really like the fourth row, fourth column. You wouldn't have to worry about crenels then either and that upper crown design is really cool. It reminds me of those pictures in which the water droplet just hit the surface of the water.

Of course. =)

Hey, Cam,

I realize that what we like is also the fault of human nature: it's how much we see something that helps determine what we like.

The crenels on the crown's base platform looked a bit excess and unecessary at first. But, the more I look at them in my renders, the more I'm starting to like them.

I don't know about you. haha

I still hold my previous opinion in reserve, but it's your chess set. Shine on, you crazy diamond =)
