Well after working with the generous Lars Nowak on my configuration, I can report that it's very nice to add this component to my toolbox. When I tried to set it up, it didn't react like I thought it was supposed to, so I assumed it was not set up correctly. Lars actually remoted into my laptop to see what was going on, and fielded my many questions. That's great support, thanks Lars!!
Below is the scenario I tested and that works great:
Two human players playing on the KP board and moves are shown on Arena. (Note this is not using the KP engine. I assume that Arena can provide real time move analysis but I didn't do that yet.)
I just received an email from Millenium on their new UCI integration with ChessLink:
ChessLink as UCI integration for ARENA and Fritz
This UCI ChessLink Engine integrates the ChessLink interface into any UCI capable chess program. The interface simulates an UCI engine, and transfers moves from the board to the PC and vice versa. Both ARENA and FRITZ have already been successfully tested with it. The program supports both the exclusive boards and The King Performance. Download, documentation, limitations and installation instructions can be found in the PDF document under the link below. Thanks to Lars Nowak for this great extension!
I have yet to try it out but wanted to reach out to others that may already jumped on this. How is it working? Have you tested it with other apps besides Arena or Fritz?
I'll report back as soon as I have the time to do it.
