And.... just like that, it's gone. Sold for $774 shipped.

Dumb question - the certificate says 1950 but the knights don't look like 1950 knights. Is that because the naming system / Dubrovnik offering then isn't the same as it is now?
Another question for @nojchess. I have noticed on the ebay Dubrovnik Certificate of Authority on the bottom left NOJ emblem is different than on my Certificate. Maybe I'm thinking too much into it but I'm curious if there was a reason for the change and what year has this happen?
Above is the recent set sold today and below is a set I have in my possession. Thanks in advance.
The knights on this set are exceptional. This set was made by their “old carver”. In my opinion, I would say the Knights on this set are more refined than their currently made Dubrovnik knights.
Just to add the older NOJ knight's do look way better carved ,
What year did the new carver take over , ? for @nojchess
This must be one of the earliest sets from our production. Back then we were not even aware that there were several diferent Dubrovnik versions produced - thought that was the only one. That's the reason we named it 1950 but change it after seeing true 1950 pieces.
Hope that explain the situation.
Saw another early bird NOJ set on eBay this morning.
Like new, never played. Noj BCE Stage 1 Western. With stainless steel bases and blue leather pads option. Walnut and Maple, natural color with satin finish. Numbered Noj certificate included. Set has never been played and is in mint condition. 34 pieces including two additional queens.

WHAT?!!! Someone out there got an incredible deal. I saw the listing at 5:15am. Clicked the Buy It Now button, but it had just sold minutes ago.
OUCH. What a way to start the morning. I'm going back to bed. LOL

Sorry not sorry, @Pawnerai. I beat you to it. Looking forward to this one. I think I can liquidate the rest of my NOJ sets now. @VBerriz — fortunate indeed.

Hah! I had my chance for a few minutes. I paused on the trigger thinking about the BCE Blitz version. Enjoy the prize. It looks pristine. Hey, you saved me $450! When you're ready to "liquidate" your NOJ sets I got my bucket ready. LOL
@PAwnerai @Krames @TheOneCalledMichael, I have a 1950 unweighted walnut and maple set, a 4” Dubrovnik II in Brown stain maple and Maple, a red stain and maple Dubrovnik II, and a GM Pavasovic, as well as a non-NOJ Type 1 eastern that Jonas commissioned from India and sold as a Blitz set when he was still selling from his own site.
I’m willing to listen to offers for any of them. They won’t be cheap, but no reasonable offer refused. Reasonable to ME, that is.

This is not my listing.
Noj Dubrovnik II, red stained maple. $750 Buy It Now or Best Offer. Judging by the early certificate, I'm guessing he did not pay anywhere close to the $750 asking price when he purchased the set. So there might be some wiggle room in the price.
This is only the 3rd or 4th NOJ set I've seen on eBay in the past 3 years. Looks to be in excellent condition too. No 3 year wait. And it's in the US for shipping. Very tasty.
It might be snatched up at any moment. Decide quickly
