The website does say in the fine print description 55mm square which is 2.165". 

Guys, I finally pulled the trigger and got the World Chess Championship Set! After years of admiring it online I finally went through with it. Although I did order it from Chess Baron which has me ever so slightly nervous. I’ll keep everyone updated on the process in case anyone else wants to purchase the set from there.

Awesome. Would love to see what version of the Knights is Chess Baron shipping. Do you have a tracking number? Where is it shipping from? Good luck! 

Not yet, they are processing the order now, will keep everyone updated on where its shipping from, and what the knights look like, heck i'll even try to take pictures of all the pieces for that matter. I personally prefer the slimmer knights, so thats what i'm hoping for, (but i'll be satisfied either way).

Dang, thats unfortunate, yeah, would have been a better deal by about 50 dollars, unfortunately Chess Baron charges a 15% restocking fee, so I'd only be saving around 10 dollars.

I can see $50 higher price at HoS website, comparing to direct World Chess price .

I just saw that, I plan on going for the walnut, acacia, and ebony board, it does have a steep price tag of $300 but looks just beautiful, (I plan on making a review once I get it as info on it is none existent).

Update: I’ve received tracking and shipping confirmations, the chess set is shipping from Wembdon, So, Great Britain, and is set to arrive Monday. Let me know if you all would like to see the pieces, knights, and box (mainly so you could have a reference when ordering this set form Chess Baron).

I'd actually love to see the quality of the shipment packaging. Exterior shipping box, packing peanuts, bubble wrap, pieces individually wrapped(?), etc.. 

And the Knights of course.

I don't understand why they keep sticking to their 50 mm square size--it's much too tight!! But the foam storage is nice.

I don't understand either. I agree, 50mm sq size is too tight for these full-size WC FIDE pieces. All the tournaments use 55mm sq size boards to go along with the WC FIDE pieces. It doesn't make sense. 

The first offering from World Chess that just doesn’t do it for me, the board looks so thin and cheap from the pictures, not to mention the price tag.

Update: I just received the pieces from Chess Baron and everything is in good condition! The box is unharmed as well as all the pieces. The quality of this set is just in a league of its own. Anyone on the fence about this set should absolutely go through with it, you won’t be disappointed. Bellow will be some pictures.
