Another one?
I've been thinking of adding the FIDE WCC for my current collection. I might need to sell some sets in the foreseeable future to offset the cost and to keep the collection neat and tidy.
But I thought you already had WC set...
Nope. I've handled some pieces. Bid on a couple. And made offers on some. Researched it a ton. And admired it from afar. Going back to Post#25 I've only been considering the set.
I've been watching/listening to it in the background while I work. I have several browser windows open and switch back and forth listening to the different commentators' thoughts. There's only so much I can listen to Judit Polgar and Anish Giri. I don't feel the chemistry is there with those two for 3+ hours. The David Howell/Jovanka Houska stream is more entertaining to listen to during those long moments of dead air between moves. Then there's the Hikaru Twitch Stream. He's on the WestCoast so it looks like he just rolled out of bed. LOL
The DreamTeam for me will always be Alejandro Ramirez/Yassar Seirawan/Maurice Ashley. That was some amazingly entertaining commentary during the SinquefieldCup/StLouisRapid&Blitz.
I am a huge fan of David and Jovanka. It is great that Chess24 got the whole team, including studio, after the Meltwater Championship in Oslo. I was actually sending messages to the organisational team in Oslo that this is how the future Chess Tournaments should be covered. So I was happy when they announced that the whole team, including the infrastructure, are coming back with FIDE World Championship .

I like listening to https://www.chess.com/member/gmbenjaminfinegold Ben and his son comment on the game and they comment on chess.com’s commenting. It is amusing and insightful.
And then there's the highly polished game recaps from NBC who has the budget and experience to make it a huge mainstream production. Below are the NBC recaps from Game 1 and 2.

I started out with Judit/Anish but quickly switched to Fabiano/Robert/Danny and have stayed there ever since. Fabiano has been incredible, Robert's been great, and Danny has been, well, Danny.
Together they've been much, much better than I expected.
At this point I'm getting the big runaround and a bunch of stonewalling with my Academy Edition order placed on the 25th. Blah, blah, blah, shipping delays, banks closed for Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, yaddah, yaddah, yaddah.
My position: stop making excuses, get off your a.s.s. and do your d.a.m.n. job.
Hahaha, Chess House seems to be doing fine - order placed this morning shipped this afternoon.
Not impressed with World Chess. Or Chess Baron, for that matter...but that's another story.
Sigh.
Interesting! Outside of the vague response I received to my questions about knight variability, I have *only* had excellent experiences with World Chess and I've have at least 4 or 5 encounters with them at this point. I'm sorry to hear you're getting the runaround.
I'd love to get a chance at Chess Baron but their $129 Studio Sets are still sold out.
