Old Chess Set

Hello all, New member here . I recently found my Grandfather's old Chess Set that he purchased in Asia in the 40's I was told but I do not know anything about it. It is quite detailed. I do not know if it is bone or ivory. Not looking to sell it, just trying to understand more about it. Anyone seen something like this and can share some insight. Much appreciated in advance.

Look up Canton or Cantonese ivory chess sets. Not sure this is one or not, but they are the most common sets like this around.

Wow, very interesting. Leaning more that this is bone. I believe ivory has a diagonal pattern on it. I saw a few similar but not the same. Still a bit pricey people are selling them for, even bone.
