nullHi guys, I bought this board today for few money. I am asking myself if I would be able to fix it. Is this feasible at all?

torrubirubi

I am asking myself if I could fix this board. Perhaps somebody here has experience with restsurstions?

Boards like this look very antique and valuable to me. Why fix?

torrubirubi

In the meantime I could fix it partially, it took only few minutes. null

It is better than before.

Nice fix!

Keep it for the memories and use a new chess board to play on!

testaaaaa

you should teach people at repair-cafes

I just removed the frame, pushed the half sides together and glued the frame. It was easier than I thought. The board has a nice patina. It is probably from the early 20th century and I can use it to expose some old sets - in the case that I organise once an exposition.

I thought I could expose my best sets in the international tournament in Biel. I have to contact the organizators to see if they have interest. But before I should really inform myself better about my sets. I collected a lot but did not do enough research about the items.

nullI found this nice plastic set today for few money. Nice knights. Unfortunately not weighted, but otherwise a beautiful set made in West Germany by the company Big, nullperhaps in the early 1980s.

Have any of the early chess computers?  I had a Fidelity Electronics set, with the built-in chess computer (late 1970s).  Regrettfully, I gave it away many years ago.

I have some,  among others a Novag Adversary Robot in perfect condition.

Have a look on eBay. I've bought a few of these recently and they're often cheap. Be aware that a few sellers are ridiculously expensive though!

I'll probably fix it the same way but with duct tape. :-D

Thanks. I go regularly to flea markets, but it is not easy to find an interesting item for my collection.
