Old, damaged chess board: is it possible to fix it?

In the meantime I added some nice items to my collection. I purchased among others a Biedermeier set and a beautiful old chess board, probably early 19th century. The seller really didn't know much about the things he was selling. For example, he sold to me a very nice sculpture of a saint,  probably from the 17th or even 16th century for only 80 dollars.  The real value would be something like 7.000 dollars or more.

Hi, how do you deal with copyright issues? I mean, is this legal?

stefanstavrianos

Yes is free and legal. They are not my books. I help somebody to find them on internet.

Not sure about this. Usually you can only use a book 70 years  after the author death. Polgar is still alive.

Nice fix, lol. It beats duct tape, baling twine, and chewing gum! I like the age worn character of the board. Have you done work on it since?

brasileirosim

No, I did only the minimum necessary. It is important to keep the original condition.

Actually suspicious with both d1 and e1 squares dark!
