Hello,

I like to understand how to play fair on chess.com.
I only play daily games and want to know what i can use and what not, so can anyone help me with that? I’ve read the rules but do not understand everything.
I played lots of games and stored them in a database, can i use this games?
Some of them games are analysed with a chessprogram, can i use this info?
Can i use  online database games?

Maybe there are more do and dont’s, please tell me
I’ve read the rules below.

What are the rules?
Using chess programs or engines (., Chessmaster, Fritz, Komodo, Houdini, Stockfish, Chessbase with any active UCI engine) to analyze positions in ongoing games is strictly prohibited.
For Daily Chess (turn-based games with several days per move):
You may consult non-engine resources, such as books and opening databases (including the Chess.com Explorer), for standard and thematic games. Engine analyses of these resources are not allowed.
Tablebases are prohibited.
You may not seek opinions from an engine or another person regarding the opening database, tablebases, self-preparation, or analysis related to a specific game in progress on Chess.com.

For Daily you can't use engines. You can't use a database that has engine numerical evaluations for the moves.

Oke thx for reaction,

Use of games that are analyzed is fine. Whatever you use can't tell you the best move in a position through an engine or evaluation. You have to choose the moves to play

Is the Explorer feature on this site still allowed for Daily games? I just noticed today that Explorer has changed hugely & now seems to give computer evaluation on the moves whether you want it or not 🤔

Oh i dont know, dont use the explorer.....

Resources with engine evaluations are not allowed.

So then why has chess.com inserted engine evaluations into its database? They're encouraging you to use databases, but now we can't use theirs?

I swear, every design "improvement" is a step backward. Game review now defaults to meaningless bogus "coaching" that's of no use to people know how to use an engine to review a game properly.

Yes agreed and the point change of when you finish a game it shows you a brilliant move with a question mark or "23 good moves"

You can still use Explorer with it's new features on games that have finished but the problem arises if you have an ongoing Daily game that uses the same opening. I'd imagine that the many members who are playing about 12+ Daily games at the same time could be facing difficulties(?)

I do think though, that the new Explorer features are an improvement, just as long as you don't play too many games (I try to keep my number below 10 if poss.)
