Hello. I have recently bought this chess set that i understood it was called botvinnik flohr 1 or Pieces of Artel Vsekokhudozhnik and from the seller i know they are from about 1930 s . I do not know much about it . Also if you know a good estimation of a fair price for this set would be curious. I want to know more informations about it .Thanks

Those appear on Etsy and are not inexpensive when in good condition. For example, https://www.etsy.com/listing/1249838414/soviet-antique-chess-set-30s-vintage

Maybe what’s a fair price is subjective, or at least highly mutable. I think around $700 is a fair price, but they tend to be offered for $900+. Creacollection has two for sale for much higher than that.

The price will also depend on how detailed the knights are and how much character they have. Also, the finials of the bishops are very prone to breaking off, as is the case with your set. One might expect a higher price if the bishop finials are intact.

Soviet sets were way cheaper years ago. Major chess collector Steven Kong told me he bought an Egyptian by MYUD for $75 in 2011! They’re on offer for $350–500 today. I guess what I’m saying is that the value of these sets depends on how much people are willing to pay for it, and in the last years they have become in higher demand, in part due to greater exposure. The Vsekokhudozhnik are perhaps particularly desirable, not only because they look cool, but also because of their rarity and the fact that they were once thought to be the set used in the 1933 Botvinnik–Flohr match. We now know that it’s not the set, but the BFI moniker stuck and is still used by sellers today to imbue their offerings with a sense of prestige and historical significance.

This is certainly not the Botvinnik set. I have a similar one that I bought for $80 a few years ago and it was simply called Russian vintage chess set
