Please help identify the origin of this European chess set

Hi everyone,

does any of you know the origin of this old chess set?

The turned pieces have paper instead of felt on the bottom. What is odd is that the queens have a red thread of wool around their collars, perhaps to better distinguish them from the kings? The set turned up in Austria, but it looks very different from the typical Austrian chess sets from the past.

The King height is 3.15" (8cm), base is 1.1" (2.8cm).

Many thanks.

The board in the picture is a bit small for the set, but it is the only vintage board I've got.

Maybe a little late, but the alternation of colours on the bishops' mitres is typical of Czech sets, or so I understand. Is it possible it's from there?
