Flea market find,  3.75" kings,  very heavily weighted and extremely well made. Unique castles, and has been refelted at some point.

One of the light bishops has an old, but professional repair using 2 tiny nails on the collar.

Crown stamp on kings side castles, awesome knights, and somewhat elongated bishops.

Nice set. “Rooks”, not “castles”.

Thanks, nooo, my knight is a Horsey also!

I guess you're right GrandPatzerDave, it says it right here in Wikipedia, and we all know that they're always right.

From now on I'm rookin' instead of castling, LOL.

Informal, incorrect, or old fashioned

Call me informal or old fashioned. but I still call my knight a horse sometimes and my rook a castle.

Haha, I can be pedantic sometimes.  ;-)

The profile pics of the horse are at a weird angle and make it hard to see.

Since the rooks have bricks on them, I'd say they are more like castles.  happy.png

Looks like a nice set.  I'm curious to know the history.

I'm surprised there isn't some kind of King's side stamp on the Knights as well.

You're right, will upload a few more at a better angle, thanks.

It looks like someone went a little overboard with the grooves in the knights face.

Finally managed to get some more pics on here. The eyes are on the top of head, no king's knight stamp. Solid and heavily weighted pieces, black side is ebony.

You post 4 pictures, and they are all the exact same angle?  Seriously?

Avatar of tmkroll

Well, they are a better angle than the first two. I appreciate you address my complaint with them. They're not helping me identify the set, though. I have not seen those knights before.
