Post Your Chess Sets

These boards were super cheap....made from pine. I couldn't find contrasting wood at Lowe's, so just got pine and stained it. I'd like to make something really nice out of hardwood....maybe black walnut for the dark and maple for the light, and not have to stain it at all. Then I could sand it to perfection also. Maybe this summer.

I'm envious of that gem John.....Btw,ya' like Kraftwerk?.....Sounds great on a nice stereo rig.
Love my electronic music!

Got a very nice 1849 Staunton replica yesterday. The antiquing is more along the lines of Chessbazaar or Royal Chess Mall, but the carving is excellent, and it's much, MUCH less than e.g. Staunton Castle or Chess Empire. Boxwood and ebony, 4.4" king's size.

@chessmaster_diamond the raised board is indeed very beautiful. It looks like a custom made board made by this German guy from Otterberg / Kaiserslautern. I think his name was Hermann, his wife was Isolde and they ran an ebay shop for quite a while under the name "isostar" or something like that. Not sure if he is still working, the shop seems to be down. Is that one of his boards? I always liked his style. I got myself a custom made board with ebony and myrtle inlays from him, which is absolutely beautiful work.

Yes, it's a Hermann Produkte board. They made that one for me because, at the time, they were only offering smaller versions of it. So I paid a little extra. I had three boards from them, this being the most expensive. I think it looks much more expensive than it really was. IIRC i paid something like €140 for it.
Too bad the boards are no longer available, they stood out from the crowd and were great value.

This is from Vijaya. I had actually ordered a Morphy set from them, but they sent me this one. I wasn't too angry about it as I was going to buy an 1849 Cooke set from them next anyway - which is a bit more expensive actually, so I didn't complain too much, but now I have to order a Morphy from some other place.
I made this one too:
