This chess set is really cool.

Very nice, OMG! Tell us about that stunning board, please.
It's just a 24" x 24" piece of wood from Home Depot spray painted and coated with Polycrilic. I'm glad you like it, thanks.
The squares are 2.375" for the record. The set is Zagreb 59 with 3.75" king (though it's stockier than most 3.75" king sets--as you can see it fits the 2.375" square nicely).
I have a plastic set worth half a dollar. We Indians normally don't waste money on fancy things. We are practical people. We like to deliver results. We don't like to show off like kids. We don't play here mostly with wooden pieces. We can enjoy the game even in plastic board and pieces. Chess is all about thinking, not showing off some fancy stuff.
Recently I aquired another Austrian/Hungarian Coffee House styled set. It was very dusty and dirty with some chips in the collars, but I did the best I could to clean it up and do minor repairs to the collars and felts. The before photographs taken by the seller in Hungary.
And after doing what I can.It was hard for me to let this one go again on ebay as it is such a great playing set.

Vietnamise chess set was buying at Moscou in 1951
That's a Vietnamise set made from water buffalo horn and either bone or ivory. It's their version of a French Regence set. I've always liked them.

Thnks, MySet. The size is great and the colors meld really well, easy and not stressful on the eyes. I hope to post a few better pics soon

you are welcome.
i must admit i have to choose how to spending... as the great chess boards are expensive, i prefer looking for chess men or,if really good opportunity, for complete chess set.
