Problem with Fritz 16

I don't know where to put this so I put it here. Has anyone used Fritz 16 yet? I've got a problem and I went to Chessbase support and they wasn't really helpful. Evertime I try and play a rated game with the engine, when I select time controls it gives me 10 seconds and won't let me change it on the clock. No matter what time I select it gives me 10 seconds on the clock. I don't know what option to press or what button to press to change it to the time I want to after the fact. I've got Fritz 15 and it works fine, but I wanted to use the new features of Fritz 16 and I just feel I wasted my money.

I just downloaded Fritz 16 myself this weekend and experienced the same problem when trying to play a rated game with 45+45 time controls. I figure I must be doing something wrong or it's a software bug that needs fixed. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to explore whether or not I may be doing something wrong when trying to play a rated game with longer time controls. If I find something out I will add another post but I likely won't get to play around with it for a few days.

Work, wife, sleep and no time for chess much during the week.

Thanks for the info. If I'm not the only one it must be a bug that needs updating. I just wish support would have listened better.

Fritz is definitely not worth the money.

Odd.  Why release a product that had a feature that worked before, but not in the newest release?

Try using old GUI It is an option in fritz menu see if it fixes problem else ask technical support. They are responsive.

The only way to play rated games with longer time controls is with the old GUI. At least that’s what I was using when the problem occurred.

Chessbase support finally sent me an email and asked me to send a screenshot. So, I'll wait for their response and see if they can solve the problem. I'll post here for the solution just in case anyone else has the same problem if I can solve it.

I have the same exact issue.  Tried contacting customer support two days ago and have not received a response, yet.

I have a problem with Fritz 16. I made my own opening database which I used for a while to practice  one specific opening. Everything worked fine until I made another opening database. Now Fritz won't let me use the first database. For some uknown reason I always get the message that the format is invalid which is a complete nonsense since it is a chessbase format.  It took me several hours to input all the moves for that specific database and now it's all gone. It is so frustrating.  Is there a way to solve this problem!? This crappy Fritz is so buggy even after several updates.

I was able to solve my issue by uninstalling and then reinstalling Fritz.  Havent tried yet the opening databases yet.

Did anyone get an answer to the Rated Game timer issue. No matter what I set the Game I only get 10 seconds to make a move.
I have Emailed Chessbase Support. Normally they are great responding but on this occasion no response after 1 week.

I have no problem playing a 45+45 game against the engine.

I have Fritz 16, version 44, on 64-bit Windows build 1909.
