Question about "Chess for juniors"

Hello, I'm about to buy a book on chess beginning strategy. I currently read the free pdf "complete idiot guide to chess 2nd edition" and while I have just read few pages, I like the explanations and I will buy the third edition.

However, I see another book on amazon, "Chess for juniors" by Snyder and I look at the reviews and I say wow! After reading some, I notice the reviews have the same pattern and are written by kids (so no real name, no tracks). Most reviews written by kids state "this is a good book for a kid of age of 8 and more" something like that.

I'm sure some of these reviews are false but I wanted to know, by real people here who have maybe read it, it is really a good book? I don't care spending 16$ to try a book. What I care is to encourage "false 5 stars reviews" if it's a bad book.Thank you.

You should first Google the following terms: "Robert Snyder chess America's Most Wanted". If nothing disturbs you after reading the search results, then you can move on to the content of Mr. Snyder's book.

You are smart to be leery of Amazon reviews; They can be written by anyone, and you have no idea what hidden agendas the reviewers might be harboring. I haven't noticed any non-Amazon reviews of "Chess for Juniors", but there's a Chesscafe review for another Snyder book, "Unbeatable Chess Lessons for Juniors". In the concluding paragraph of the review, the reviewer states, "On the whole Snyder delivers a worthwhile book. It’s not of the same caliber as Seirawan or Nunn’s, but it has its pace in the chess literature."

By the way, I have read Patrick Wolff's book, and I thought it was a great book for beginners.
